Hull boss Phil Brown has launched a furious attack on Geovanni after the player reacted petulantly to his substitution during the 2-1 loss at home to Blackburn on Sunday.
The defeat leaves Hull in real trouble as they have now won only one of their last 18 games in the league, and Geovanni showed his frustration as he was taken off after 53 minutes at the KC Stadium with his side 2-0 down.
Both Geovanni and the home fans appeared angry at the decision and, although Brown confirmed the former Brazil international still has a role to play for The Tigers, he suggested he would be happy to see the player fail his drugs test.
"He will never do that to me again," he said.
"It’s quite simple: I am the manager.
“I haven't spoken to him yet. He's getting drugs-tested so hopefully they will find that positive.”
He added: "Geovanni is not bigger than this football club – it's as simple as that. I don't think he was having a positive impact on the game.
"I'm there to make big decisions and if the fans don't like it then they don't like it. There is nothing I can do about that.”
There was further bad news for Hull as Dean Marney was sent off for kicking out at Morten Gamst Pedersen, and Brown had little sympathy for the player.
"I'm disappointed in Dean but it was uncharacteristic," he said.
“It just shows how much pressure these players are under.
“He's in tears in the changing rooms but that counts for nothing. He got his comeuppance."
Blackburn, meanwhile, had Pedersen sent off for two bookable offences, but Sam Allardyce came away from the game more relieved than angry.
The Norway winger was shown his first yellow for the challenge that led to Marney’s sending off and, although he was unhappy with the decision, he was happier with the three points.
“I’m glad to say, unlike other games, a referee’s decision hasn’t cost us today,” he said.
“We have had a number of points taken off us by bad refereeing decisions, but that’s not been the case today.”
He added: "It wasn't about how we played it was about how we had to dig this one out.
“We had to hang on for the last ten minutes, but we defended tremendously.
“We got what we deserved. This was my first win away from home so we've laid a bogey to rest."
