I kept telling myself I was going to follow x-factor this year because I love the audition stages. But yet again after just 2 episodes I have given up following, haha :p

I much prefer the live finals stage, this is the first year in ages I've followed the auditions

I don't watch anymore. It started going downhill when they introduced a live audience to the auditions, it's unfair because it either makes them too nervous when they might be great or it gives them false hope because a conviced child molestor could walk on and as long as he sung, the audience would cheer him. Plus Spanish football is on at the same time, priorites and all that.

I'll be honest, I have felt guilty for watching at times, some of the bad acts they put on, alot of times seem to actually have some mental issues (either that or they're paid actors) :/ And it's worse because they're not people who just happened to walk of the street and in front of the judges, they've passed other auditions to get to be on the televised show in front of the actual judges, basically being picked so they could be publicly humiliated.

I get the spanish soccer thing, but a live audience? Surely that cannot be unfair, if you want to perform you gotta do it live, plenty of work flipping burgers or working with horses for those who cannot face the crowds ;)

My point was more to do with the second part, it gives them false hope when they are crap. And I think it even influences the judges. Last year someone really awful was on, and I think Cheryl got the last vote, and I'm absolutely convinced had the audience not been there she'd have said no, but the audience was that loud it influenced her to say yes.

The auditions are the only bit I actually like, its entertaining television, don't watch it once they get to the serious stages because everyone left in just sound the same, and once in a blue moon someone from the x-factor will actually amount to something and be successful.
