I dunno if you guys know, probably not...but Alleycat narrowly escaped this tragedy today...her work building was right under that bridge when it collapsed, and she has to get on it to get to and from work everyday..if she would have left 10 minutes later she could have been a victim.

Tragic, glad Alley's ok.

And of course my requisite smart ass comment:

George Bush let it happen. He hates people who drive on bridges.

It's funny you say that... Good 'ole George commented about the bridge collapse this morning and in the same breath said that the democratic congress needs to pass his spending bill, making it seem like it was the democrats fault...

Can't anyone in the government address the people of this nation without making some sort of political statement?

ya right instead of helping they would rather point their finger and say it's their fault

“We in the federal government must respond, and respond robustly, to help the people there not only recover, but to make sure that lifeline of activity — that bridge — gets rebuilt as quickly as possible,” Bush said in the Rose Garden following a Cabinet meeting.

So it looks like this mess will be cleaned up very quickly. Great news for all those who rely on crossing the Mississippi for work....

Oh yeah, it will be nice if that bridge is up and in full operation before the GOP has their presidential convention there next year. :dunno

Bwahahaha! He's reading about the bridge collapse yesterday.
"This is......a.........horrible tragedy....and.........we hope to.......get this......situ.....ation.....under con....trol."
You can so tell he's got a mic in his ear.

You can so tell he's got a mic in his ear. :D

And what's with the people having themselves towed across bridges?

You're too afraid to drive across a bridge yourself.

So you have somebody tow you across.

And pay them $25.

If the bridge falls the fuck down, it doesn't matter if you're driving or being towed, you're screwed.

But yeah, horrible thing, best wishes to all the people hurt yesterday :(

Dumbasses.
