Apparently he has a huge bleed at the base of his brain stem and is being "intently observed" in the ICU after several MRIs and CT scans.

Back in the 80s and early 90s my group of friends were all about some Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, and Poison. Granted, lately I keep thinking "Bret, give up that 15 minutes of fame, buddy, you can only drag it out so long"...but I would never wish him harm. I know he's got 2 young daughters, too, and if I remember correctly one of them was recently diagnosed as diabetic, too (he's got a severe case of diabetes). For his family's sake, I sure hope he makes it through.

Kinda hits home, too, b/c last May I was in the hospital and was given similar news...I was told they thought they saw a bleed at the base of my skull. Turned out it was nothing, thank God, but yanno know what they say...there but for the Grace of God...

People.com is reporting that "Celebrity Apprentice" contestant, reality TV staple and former Poison frontman Bret Michaels was rushed to the ICU Thursday night after experiencing an "excruciating headache."
Doctors discovered Michaels had suffered a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding at the base of his brain stem) and he is currently in critical condition:
"After several CAT scans, MRIs and an angiogram, [doctors] decided to keep Michaels in the ICU and are running several tests to determine the cause. [It] will be touch and go for the next few days while he is under intense observation," a source told People.com.
Michaels, a diabetic, underwent an emergency appendectomy on April 12, but told fans in an April 19 note that his recovery was going well. No word yet as to whether the hemorrhage is related to his previous surgery.

Well I spent my late teen years listening to poison and that really sucks for him. I hope for his and his families sake he makes it through this. I was so into Bret Michaels...

Picky and choosy... hmmm... that's hard in the music business haha. And that's not fair, not all guys in bands make it with a bunch of chicks.

The ones that I knew did. It was sex, drugs and rock n roll all the way back then. I don't know how it is now but I wouldn't chance it.

I'm in a band, and the scene ain't like that anymore. All the girls who are "all over" guys are in clubs now. Metal shows, rock shows, they're pretty safe (as safe as you can be anywhere these days).

Staci said on FB that she thinks it may have been a stroke...I'm inclined to agree w/ her.
