Biggest Ant Ever!

I know it's completely irrational, but I have this ungodly fear of ants. I was laying in bed playing games and thought I felt something crawling on my foot. I normally peek and it's usually nothing, but I just knew there was something there so I shook my leg and then looked on the floor to see what it was. A spider I could have handled but it was the world's biggest freaking ANT! Oh my gosh y'all. My poor heart is going 90 miles an hour right now. So much for feeling sleepy! Now I don't know if I'll even get to sleep- like there is only ever one ant, am I right?

I forgot- I of course started screaming- well not really screaming, but calling- for John and had to stutter through what happened and he came to my rescue and flushed the damn thing! My hero!

I know being scared of ants sounds ridiculous, but I kid you not I have seen horror movies about ants. Well, not actually seen as in watched, because I'd have nightmares for weeks, but yeah.

I don't know where he came from though! He was on my freakin' bed! That means he's been in my room a while. I think he's a carpenter ant, so I'll call down to the office and have them take care of it with the pest guy. I also just saw a silverfish, so I'll get that taken care off. I hate summer in this complex- there are so many bugs around. Especially cockroaches! I have to skip steps coming up to my apartment because there will be 5 or 6 on a single step sometimes. So nasty!

(John got the silverfish too. He even tried to distract me so I wouldn't see it.)

I would do a bug bomb. And then sprinkle some black pepper on any openings to outside. Like window seals, door ways...etc.

You are right, if there is one there is bound to be more close.

And another good piece of advise is to never kill those things because they give off a scent to other ants and those other ants will come find and carry away the body. Flushing is a good idea since it won't actually die in the house.

Well, he kinda beat it to death with the remote and then flushed it. haha It would have been funny to watch, but I was to freaked out to enjoy it.

I'm really freakin' tired too and just want to crawl in bed. I'm too scared to though.

oh you would have freaked if you saw the ants i saw today, they are the big brown ones that normally live in trees, apparently they have been attempting to get into my house. i walked outside today and a bunch of them scattered so now its time to spray around the house again...
