carlos santana!

Santana?! I mean, he is a good guitarist, but I don't think he deserves to be mentioned with Hendrix, Page or Clapton. Hell, Hendrix was a guitar God. He didn't play the guitar, he made sweet sweet musical love to the guitar, and made it moan like a beautiful woman.

In my opinion, Rock and Roll Guitarists are way overrated. You guys should listen to some classical guitar. Its rediculously difficult, and the guys can really make music out of it.
I'm not too big on guitars in general, though. I wouldn't be able to give a name or anything.

I agree that classical guitar is awesome, but I think you need to go listen to some Hendrix, Clapton or Page. Only a handful of people in the world can make a guitar do the things they do. Playing electric guitar is quite a bit different than playing acoustic six string and takes a different skill set. The basics are the same, but to make an electric guitar really sing is quite a bit different than playing classical acoustic.

I agree with all of those, but I would substitute Randy Rhodes for Tony Iommi.

Joe Satriani and Jeff Beck are okay, too.

You cats are trippin.

Dimebag mu fuka. :cool

dimebag wasnt as good as ever1 says. the oly thing he knew how to do was make catchy simple guitar riffs. and not so technical solos. compared to SRV and Hendrix he is nowhere close. but the next guitar legend in my eyes is going to be Synyster Gates from Avenged Sevenfold. he has some of the most mind-blowing solos ive ever heard.

Dood, this is the most retarded statement ever. IMO.
