Best Comedies?

1. Dumb and Dumber
2. Ace Ventura Pet Detective
3. It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World
4. There's Something about Mary
5. Mystery Men
6. A Fish Called Wanda
7. Monty Python and the Holy Grail

I'm sure there are others. I realize that humor is very subjective, but Jim Carrey in the top two films is a comedic genius. Besides the multitude of gags in these films, the fantasy sequence while driving to Aspen (Dumb and Dumber) and when Ace realizes that Lois Einhorn is a man approaches surreal. I was impressed that Jeff Daniels can hold his own against Carrey. I can imagine some of you hating No1 and 2. As I said it's subjective.

1) Brüno
2) Zoolander
3) Blades of Glory

Fargo was a classic very dark humour but very very funny

I forgot Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz as well.
They're much better than tropic thunder, my list is worthless already lol

yeah I guess. Both great films, just wouldn't have called them comedies.

Definitely Hot Fuzz and Shaun, awesome films.

Here I go showing my age but I loved the Abbott and Costello movies. Now those were classic!

Opinion- Fargo had some humorous aspects but it was way to dark to be considered a comedy.

Abbott and Costello are very watchable.

Hated Fargo w/ a passion...OMG, I hated it SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much!!! I'm not big on watching comedies much, but I hated Super Troopers the 1st time I watched it and then the more I watched it the funnier it got.

The Gods Must Be Crazy and The Gods Must Be Crazy II. Oh my word, I nearly died laughing when I watched the second one. That is some good stuff right there. "I was really pooped, boss..." :24:
