Boy what a bad start to the day. Joe gets home about 12 ish. So I was long in bed. Unbeknownst to me, the tenants in our duplex had left the water running on their side. So rather than wake them up. (which I would have done). He shuts the water off at the main, which turns our water off too. So, I having gone to bed much earlier don't know this. So long about 4:30 am, I am sleeping next to his cat, Zelah, who just the last few months has deigned to warm up to me. I had been petting her earlier in the evening. My cat, really both ours but Phantom thinks I'm her mother, and proceeds to perodically jump on the bed while I'm sleeping seaching for nipples in my hair (I couldn't make this shit up) kind of pushed Zelah aside. Zelah didn't like this. She reached out her claws to push Phantom away and clawed me in the hand instead RIGHT ON THE VEIN!
I have a confession to make. I don't do well with my own blood. I can handle others' blood. Am good in emergencies, if Joe, Evan, or a friend is bleeding I react calmly and well. Me....not so much. I yelp, turn on the lamp and watch as my blood pumps out of my hand, immediately feel like I'm going to faint, yelling at Joe who just went to bed a few hours ago (he can't go to bed right away from work). I stumble/rush to the bathroom watching petrified as much blood pumps out and my hand forms a pyramid on the back of it filled with blood AND NO WATER......JOE I yell. NO WATER. Oh yeah I turned it off. Well turn it the FUCK ON AND RIGHT NOW BEFORE I PASS OUT! So he runs downstair turns it own I get the water on it and start feeling faint and I wait for him to come tend to me (really calm me down) I'm waiting, waiting,......"Joe where are you?" FINALLY, he comes up. "I had to go to the bathroom." I don't care. He can damn well pee in a corner for all I care at that moment. I'm feeling dizzy, sick to my stomach and none to hot.....
So he forces the blood pyramid down, gets a bandage on it. Starts talking about gee isn't the blood dark, almost black. NOT THE RIGHT THING TO TALK ABOUT RIGHT NOW>>>>>>>>
I finally get to sleep having to wake up at 6 am.
I tell you, I don't think I'd be good on the front line in the army if I got injured.........
