There's quite a lot the invasions haven't achieved. I remember watching a program a year after the fall of Saddam in Iraq that showed US forces explaining to the women of Iraq that they could now expect equality... what was funny was that Iraqi women enjoyed much better equality before the invasion - it was apparently law under Saddam that women doing the same job as men had to earn the same.
