Just got done watching Avatar for the first time and I have to say that it was an amazing movie. The world of Pandora is amazing, the animal and plant life are so beautiful and strange and the N'avi are in their own alien way like us. The director also has an unequaled insight into human nature: When we want something, we take it no matter if it already belongs to somebody, and we believe the ends justify any means that we used to get there. This movie is kind of an analogy for what were doing to Iraq IMO. Excellent movie, best I've seen in a long time, I found myself actually caring about what was happening to the characters and emotionally moved when something good or bad happened, you should definitely buy this movie because you're going to watch it more than once.

We tried to watch it the other night and the length along with several interruptions ruined it for us. Still a very good film.

Love Avatar! Splurged and saw it in 3D in the Theater. When it hit DVD, the Blu Ray/DVD set was on sale for $20 bucks, I was so pumped that it was only $20! Had to get it. Unfortunately between job and my 1 year old I haven't had the opportunity to watch it again. Can't wait.,

I thought it was good without being great. Not as great as some would have you believe, visually it was outstanding but it wasn't that strong a story.

But it was a very possible story when you tell a story regarding competing group dynamics. What makes this movie stand out is a photorealistic world created from scratch with humans blended right into it, conflict and lots of purposeful amazing action. This movie has no slow parts. My wife said it was a remake of "Dances with Wolves". I say in some ways yes, and in enough others, no, enough to make the story acceptable surrounded by an incredible everything else. :)

see.. this is the only pic i have of him still. lol

Lol! Yeah well. :D
