I agree that diets are not the cure all people make them out to be..

That said one has to consider if your child may have allergies. If they do, which ours did, one dye in particular is worth staying away from. It does not mean you need to change a whole diet but it can irritate or make your child more uncomfortable..

As an example our daughter who was ADD / ODD & Autistic would start bouncing off the walls when she would eat certain candies. It had yellow dye number 5.

To show the power of this dye, our son who is asthmatic recently had a very serious attack.. It is also one of the dyes they recommend children with asthma to stay away from and he got much better quickly.

By no means did this change much of his diet but that dye seems to be a big problem for many people.. And its found in many kids candies and treats..

exactly. This could also happen in several normal kids.. just like any normal allergy.. just autistic kids cant express themselves in the right way
