AUFred has the chance to teach Sunday School this week, so maybe we can incite some questions to gain some more insight to help him, as well as asking some of our own questions.
Please keep this cool, calm, and collected. Thanks.
BibleGateway.com - Passage*Lookup: Galatians 5:1-15;
Quite interesting; Two things though:
- The age group for this lesson should be appropriate. Probably do not want the young ones learning about the details about circumcision, lol.
- More importantly, however...
Does this mean that you had a choice, or you had to let them, because you had no ability to counter?
Does this mean that any man who does not let himself be circumcised is not obligated to obey the whole law? Does said man get to choose which laws he decides he wants to obey and those he does not wish to follow?
Sounds like we were meant to be free, but we cannot exist freely, as our sinful nature (or flesh) would dominate and control our actions and decisions.
But if we do not live freely, we live under some set of rules/laws. If that is the case, then whose laws does Paul request we follow?
----
@AUFred: might want to answer these and other question proposed here, ahead of time, Justin Case someone asks something similar, and you may not have prepared for such questions. Good luck, and look forward to the (hopefully) ensuing discussion.

Galations 5:2 said:Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all.
Does this mean that you had a choice, or you had to let them, because you had no ability to counter?
Galations 5:3 said:Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law.

You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.
