That plane recently came in for an emergency landing in a farm field, burned pretty bad, kind of a shame people won't get any more chances to be up in it.

Hmm. I dunno. :)

I'll be the first to admit I don't know a fat lot about planes but this one appealed to me because compared to the rest (which aren't that bad) - it is hugely distinctive, has great styling and just seems to have character and presence the others don't quite have.

It is an amazingly huge single seat aircraft. They used them a lot in Vietnam I believe.

The P-51 is still my all time bestest favorite because of it's speed, sleek lines and sound of it's 12 cyl Rolls Royce engine.
