Would you think it would be wrong, if it were legal for certain doctors to help a person into death who did not want to live anymore? There are obvious legal implications in this matter, but I was wondering about all of your thoughts?

I think that is the easy way out, but I would rather someone go to a controlled environment than get someone else hurt in the process of commiting suicide.

If you do not mind me injecting more food for thought into this thread, I would like to add this link:

If I die

It is very long, but very much worth the read. It will help to explore almost every facet of emotion you can have regarding this subject from all different perspectives.

i'm pro-euthanasia. i believe that people should have the right to end their own lives. i believe there should be rules and guidelines. as a vet tech, for years i've humanly killed to end suffering and pain and i thought it was sad that we didn't have that right as well.

I'm for it. I haven't given it much thought, but I think I would only be ok with it for terminal patients. Not just someone having a bad day.

In a perfect world, I'd be for it but this world is far from perfect. I'd hate to see people die because of an ellaborate attempt by relatives to get inheritance. Its a tough one with no really good answer.:(

i tend towards the other side, in this kind of world, i think its harder for a person to have prepared themselves for a moment like that, i like to think that no matter the pain, i can always think of a good joke, and the pain will only last for a finite time. laughing at the pain that does not last, with laughter that goes far beyond

I've never understood how we can justify putting an animal to sleep because it was suffering but we'll let people linger for far too long because it's "not right."

perhaps we cant picture an animal using their mind to get past the pain, mind over matter type deal, but more like little children
