Anyone have this P2P program? I've been having trouble connecting to their network for a while now. I thought it might of been software issues. Well I had to end up reformatting my computer when I got home late last night and it's still doing the same thing.

Check your Task bar and see what is using up all the CPU.
If it is that program that is at 99% then get rid of it, if you want to share files, I'd stick with a good BitTorrent client

Anybody know about "Transmission"?
If so, what do you think?
A Mac friend recommended it to me. Not too sure it's available for PC users too. Could be.
I haven't downloaded it to try it yet tho.

Our loss shall be, for not of opinion shared forth.

Why not torrents like?

:cliffs:

Unstable wireless connection (length from router), lack of usage, storage space.

Because real "torrenters" form a community, in which to share files; I do not leave my computer up and running all the time, but when I do, my wireless connection, while fast, likes to kick out at least once every 24 hours.

Not to mention, I really do not have a need for torrents, or any like type of sharing; I have pretty much all the software I need. I listen not to music much (I have some looping, all songs, in Windows Media Player, from a couple of mix cd's from my brother, right now), nor do I view much stuff on my computer in terms of videos and whatnot (there are a few exceptions, but generally, anything I view over 30 minutes is in the theatre or is interactive - consoles/computer games).

On top of that, only 20GB(5GB free) hard drive for this laptop; No external storage medium that is readily available yet (I have two 3.5" SATAI/II drives sitting around (I have some interesting family tree stuff on them, plus some older programming projects I would not mind peeking back into) but no USB2 converters to connect them).

A computer with more hardrive space you need. Or external drive to add.

Need for computer to sleep I understand. Sleep too mine does. No need to keep on 24/7 though.

Do not free software like?

Free software is good, however, all current software needs met are; storage requirements exceed not my needs. Should they expand greatly, forage the internet shall i to acquire external adapters for my SATA drives. :)

Understand your situation I do. If current needs content are you, no need to greedy play. When feel need to expand time comes, forage the internet then shall you. No shame in that is.
