I keep 2 hummingbird feeders on my front porch in the Summer. I went out to get them and clean them and re-fill them. As I was lifting one of the feeders off its hook a hummingbird was trying to get a drink from it and was hovering less than an inch from my hand. I will take them down this weekend so they will migrate for the winter.

I feed the birds and then my cat Phantom watches them eagerly, tail twitching from the front window. Later, she brings in about a bird a every other week thru the cat door. Me wonder if I am baiting these birds for her? :blush They knock the birdseed down to the ground then fly to the ground to get the seed......guess who is waiting in the nearby bushes?:ninja In my defense, when the bird is alive, Joe and I catch them and put them back outside.....sometimes they are okay enuf to live after that too.

I have a lot of hummingbirds around my house that like the flowers I have. They're the smallest bird in the world. They're even smaller than my pet cockatiel was! Now that's tiny.
