The way today started out it felt like a cross between Friday the 13th and a snowy, Monday morning. I got to bed last night at 7 and starting slumbering around 7:30, I was awoken by my own self with a potty call and went back to bed until three this morning, where I dragged out of bed and into the shower, which led me to dressing, and heading out the door at 04:10, caught the bus going into work and with my boss on vacation I thought I was prepared for almost any curve ball that would come down my way. (remember me saying that I thought I was prepared? ha, ha, ha,... read on!) When I arrived at my terminal to let my fellow co-workers into their work station everything seemed to be flowwing rather smoothly, that is until I was at one terminal that was the subject of this thread. The person who was to work this terminal is a new person (less than three months service) and I have heard mixed reviews on his work ethic. He tried to ask me to cover for him for the shift he was supposed to work, but I couldn't as I had keys to areas where he has no access to and I have codes to safes and the like to let my fellow employees in. I got to his work station at 5:45, he is supposed to arrive between 05:45-06:30. he didn't show. I started texting fellow teammates to see if there was any note or commuincation about his whereabouts. I also do not have this gentleman's telephone number so there was no way to get in touch with him. I checked my email and lo and behold there is a fresh email from the previous night team leader saying that he heard from our mysterious employee and that he did indeed switch with someone and that person should be working for him. Now, I know the employee that he switched with and she is always on time and not one for being tardy. My team leader and I are in a text/phone call discussion and she forwards me the employee who was to cover for the mysterious employee cell number, I call her and ask her for her two cents. She never agreed to work for the other dude. GRRRRREAT!!!!! Call waiting beeps and it is my team leader's boss wondering why/what has happened. I told him about what ensued and needless to say he was quite peeved. So, if anyone asks how your day is going...just read this and smile and if you can top it....
go for it!

PS......is it Friday yet????

Urgh, that's so typical of people to make assumptions like that.

We run training courses every spring, and I take care of them. One of the trainers said he couldn't do Monday (yesterday) so someone else was booked in, but on Thursday I was in a rush, forgot he'd been moved and left him a voice message asking him to give me a call about the course materials.

I realised afterwards and figured if he called back, I'd just apologise and explain I'd gotten mixed up. He never called, so I forgot about it. Then on Monday, he turns up! Said he thought from my message that he should be there. I never said anything like that in the message, and it was left on Thursday so he had plenty of time to call me and double check why I'd rung *facepalm*

Roll on the weekend :p

what kind of job is it?

sounds like that dude is more involved in other things than work
if he has kids I'd give him one more chance but I would tell him in private and sound honest when I tell him

payday today usually just a check that I take to my bank and deposite
but today was different got a check I had to cash at boss's bank then deposite in mine
some kinda issue anyway
I was told to do it during working hours
I used google maps to locate the bank I misspelled the bank so 30 minutes later and 15 minutes out of the way
I figure it out
I then finally get to the bank hoping my cell doesnt ring asking WTF
and they want two forms of ID
I just so happen to only have one today
so I waited they took my thumb print and more info
and then I got the call
I always feel like lying because the truth seems so stupid
but no worries the truth was accepted
shewwww..
