Are You Fit? Take This 20-Second Test!


To measure your weight, you stand on a scale. But to measure your fitness levels, there’s no simple or quick method. Yes, there are many scientific ways to measure fitness. But most of us don’t have the opportunity to submit to formal testing to assess our strength and flexibility levels. Nor do we have the interest! So how do you keep tabs on whether your fitness levels are healthy? Take the real-life fitness test! Take a few seconds and read the statements below. For a person over the age of 45, you are probably in good physical shape if you can:
Dance to a fast beat for more than 10 minutes without needing to sit and rest.
Walk for 30 minutes straight without getting tired.
Feel energized 14 hours after you wake up (so if you wake up at 7, you should still be going strong at 9 pm).
Carry gallon-sized containers of milk or water in hand—or any heavy groceries from the car to the refrigerator—without feeling strained.
Load your luggage into the overhead compartment on an airplane or train without feeling strained.
Jump up and down 10 times without causing your heart to race.
Carry a large basket of clothing up or down two staircases without struggle or strain.
Trim your toenails without any discomfort from bending.
Easily sit down on the floor, and then stand up.
Raise your foot as high as your hip when kicking.
Twist and look behind you without moving your feet.

Overweight, and I used to smoke.

Getting better though!! It sucks 'cause I used to be in AWESOME shape.


Smoking is ruinous for health, then tobacco addiction is hard to quit!
I still smoke 3-4 packs a day eventhough I feel miserable at times!
Plz quuit smoking...you still have a long way to go!!:)

Are you serious??


most of those questions involve legs...and there are lots of healthy people who cant necessarily do those things because they dont have legs.

therefore i believe it is a rational question...are you serious?

I cannot believe that ''lots' of healthy people can't necessarily do those things........'' as there could be
several reasons for that. 1. Obesity 2. lethargy 3. arthritis or some other disease 4. depression and allied
sicknesses.5 actual loss of lower limbs, etc etc

I really can't say for sure as to what they should do but except for those who don't have legs most of the given tests should be okay! All it requires it will to live and survive!!:)

well then these dont really determine if you are truly fit or not.
i smoke...drink heavily whenever possible (although not for a few months) and have very poor eating habbits/diet..and i can do all these things..but i know im not considered healthy or fit.

You are merely an Oddity......but if you try those tests regularly you might be able to quit
bad habits and become healthier, I bet!:)
