I have always been really sensitive, especially whilst growing up. A lot of people used this sensitivity to really get to me. They realised I was usually quiet and also sensitive, so I think it can be really hard for people that are sensitive to be placed in environments they are not comfortable in i.e school. Sensitivity I think is a sign of emotional intelligence however, and so people that are sensitive may be empathic too. They find it easy to relate to other peoples emotions. One downside I have found sometimes though, is that sensitive people can be too open about their own personal stuff, and this can put a lot of people off initially. I think over the years I have not necessarily became desensitised, but I have learnt to have better control over it. There are many cold people out there, so I like to see sensitvity in people but definetely there are positives and negatives to it.
