Technology is absolutely amazing and plays a massive role in our every day lives. I love it, and could not live without it now that I have experienced its many conveniences and pleasures. But throughout my life I have heard a lot from people thinking that there are chipping devices in smart phones, kettles, fridges, and such that are watching us or monitoring us in some way.

As far as the Illuminati goes, in my opinion, they are 100% real and that is undeniable to one that has done their research.

If you were to find out that you were being monitored would you stop using technologies many conveniences?

The monitoring you are talking about presumes some kind of cellular service. Many places I go, there's no service. My cell phone does not work. Yeah, they could be looking down from above, good luck on that one.

After Obama's espionage scandal, it won't come as a big surprise learning that all of our cell phones are intercepted and that there is always someone watching over us :O

If you've read up on the whole Edward Snowden NSA intelligence scandal they already are, the time has come.

If someone is watching me, they must be bored to death. Or in a coma! My life is pretty boring and routine.

Google and Facebook are two websites which store a lot of information about you. They sell these to advertisers who select ads tailored to your interests. For example, if you're single, you're more likely to have dating advertisements on your page. So yes, in a sense, you are being watched.

Yes, I am already aware of how Google and facebook are. They have also been know to store ones information without deleting any piece of it when you delete your account. Their storage date base must be absolutely gargantuan to be able to store everything that anybody ever puts on Facebook. I have to admit, I do not like the fact that they store things even after you delete them. That is pretty annoying and strange in my opinion. It would make more sense for them to delete what you delete to save space or create more space, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I use my smartphone all the time. I have heard that there is a device in our fridges that can monitor how many people are in the room at the time and all of that stuff.

There is CCTV everywhere now. On the streets, in the shops, in the workplace. It is impossible not to be watched! Unless someone is extremely paranoid and walks around with a starwars type hooded robe + gloves + shades, I bet our images are everywhere. It has it's benefits i suppose with crime fighting, but are our civil liberties being sacrificed too much at the expense of street safety?

I probably would limit myself a little more, or at least be more careful, if I found out that this was the case. However, I would not completely give it up, because that would only mean that I am giving them the power over me to decide where I should be. What I'd do instead, is find a way to make them f**k off because they are the ones who should leave, not us.

I don't trust anything with my information, so I don't use personal info for anything unless I absolutely have to. I'm not doing anything shady so if my info is being used for targeting marketing more efficiently than so be it.. I have ways of avoiding the invasive types. Not sure what else they would use my info for, but I'm as careful as I can be.

We're being watched all the time. That's why I switched my mails to a private/paid server, use Tor and scripts and stopped writing my biography online...
I don't trust my smartphone and keep all stuff private. Am I being obsessed? Maybe. But I feel more comfortable.

Yes, of course we are being "watched", there's no denying it. However, it's really not as bad as a lot of people seem to think. I mean, of course you have a right of privacy, and the government/Facebook/Google/advertisers shouldn't be doing this, but does it really matter that a government agency knows that you're going to your aunt's birthday party this weekend? I get that there are some things you wouldn't want other people to know, but the reality is that there's a very low chance that they're actually going to read your data. They can't possibly be going through all that information. Don't get me wrong, I also think this is wrong and that it should stop, but I find it hard to actually care about.

But have you noticed, Kaiuk, that when crimes take place and the CCTV is pulled - have you noticed that the footage is always blurred and low quality. Never good enough to be able to identify the assailant or perpetrator accurately on the first look. With the leaps and bounds that technology has made - even our phones have better recording features than the CCTV cameras. Most of our right are being abused, and people know this but nobody want to come together to do anything about it sadly.

Josie, I do some shady stuff, but it would not be shady if they were not watching my every move and telling me what I can and cannot do with my life, like I am some sort of child and they are the God's reigning down on us lol.

Of course the footage is low quality. If they'd constantly be capturing hd footage they'd need a massive amount of storage to even keep a month's worth of footage, and nobody wants to pay for that. Besides, those camera's are often intended to scare of potential thieves/criminals.

No, because I don't do anything interesting enough to warrant being paid attention to. I doubt the Illuminati is interested in my college presentations on neural pathways.

The simple answer to this one is: Yes.

However, how important are you in the grand scheme of things? In 5 zettabytes of memory does your risque phone call with your significant other register? I understand the idea behind needing the freedom to be free but, in the end, do you really thing Congress is going to get to doing anything of significance on this matter? Not me. So I just make sure they don't want to listen.

I used to use those camera's and monitors. Remember they look DOWN. Wear a hat if you don't want them to see you.

And every time you use a gps device for travel routes or have your satellite radio on they know where you are. Dealers scan your cars black box and sell that info to insurance companies. Oregon and 4 other states are proposing to upload your mileage from your car at each registration renewal. Then you will get a gas tax bill based on the miles you drive. This will screw me big time as it is 104 miles every time I go to the heart doc or the cancer center. Not to mention all the tests I get.
