Marriage used to be an economic and social contract, but today, many see it as a personal choice. With alternative relationships becoming more common, is marriage an outdated institution? What do you think makes a modern marriage successful?

We have been married over 40 years. We have several friends who have been married longer than we have been married. I think the younger generation are more fluid with their relationships whether good or bad I do not know.

I am married with kids, so for me traditional marriages are still relevant. I cannot imagine sincere and loyal relationship outside the context of marriage.

In as much as traditional marriage is the perfect matter model of relationships, we have to understand that there are people that can handle marriage as it is traditionally. Those people are free to define relationships the way it would suit and favour them.

No, traditional marriages are not outdated. They are still prevalent in many cultures and societies, and can be a successful and fulfilling way to find a life partner.
