Shared values matter, but shared interests often start friendships. Do hobbies shape your social circle? Have your interests changed who you spend time with? How open are you to friendships built around one shared activity?

When friendships are built on interests, shared activities provide a medium for bonds to be established. That is easier than having to depend mainly on conversations for friendships to thrive when friendships are based on personalities.

I think interest is more important, if you have similar interest it is easy to communicate. let's say two people both love football, that can endless talk about football and then build a lasting friendship
