From streetwear to luxury, fashion trends spread rapidly through social media and celebrity endorsements. Do trends reflect cultural evolution, or are they primarily marketing strategies to generate consumption? How much choice do consumers really have in shaping fashion?

I rarely see cultural representation in fashion industry, I see it as a profit driven market. They are even stealing ideas from indegineous culture and never giving credit.

Both, but profit usually leads. Culture shapes aesthetics, symbols, and values, which trends draw from. Brands then package, amplify, and monetize those ideas at scale. When a look gains traction, profit incentives accelerate it, often faster than culture alone would.
