I know that there can be a few excellent shows running on TV but overall, I think TV is a huge brain sucker. I mean, we'll watch, sit for hours at a time and become almost a zombie to what's presented to us before our eyes. When I watch TV, I feel as if I need to stop thinking, using my brain, and just give in my full attention to what's on TV. Unless it's a really great TV show like Breaking Bad that makes you think every moment you're watching it, I think all the channels and shows are just a waste of time.

I don't really watch TV now as I used to before, for the simple reason that I can watch all I could watch on TV here on my computer. If I can watch exactly what I want to watch here online, why sitting in front of the TV watching things I don't want while waiting for the show that I do want to see?

I don't hate or avoid watching TV. It's just that I no longer watch TV as often as I used to. That's because I have a lot of ways on how to entertain myself. I could surf the Web, play video games, go to the movies, read a book, and listen to music just to name a few. But I still watch TV.

I haven't watched TV in months. I love TV-series, but I watch those on my computer. The main reason is that everything is extremely focused on money nowadays that it's just not fun to watch anymore. The commercials, the texting to win, the calling to vote, etc. Oh well, I'll just stick to my PC, I'm fine with not watching TV anymore.

I don't watch tv at all. It's a tool of everything I hate about us now lol. All advertising and power and greed and yuck. I download all my shows and don't subscribe to any tv services. I don't even like that I like my shows :p

I don't use Television like I used to, mainly because of my computer.
Everything's available online, when I want to, so why use the TV?
But I do turn it on when it's dinner time, although I don't really pay attention to it. :p

I don't watch tv, I watch tv shows. If there's not something I want to see, I don't turn it on and sit idly. Plus, I hate commercials. But shows like Mad Men and Breaking Bad are more entertaining and engaging that most movies I've ever seen. I prefer a good TV show to a movie, most of the time. I like spending more time with the character than 2 hours.

I hardly watch TV at all, with the emergence of the internet and online content I really don't get it either. I don't understand how so many people pay to be advertised to during TV shows. Using a TV to watch movies to play games is one thing but to watch TV is another, most of the stuff on there is really boring too.

As klorjne I don't watch TV but I do watch tv shows, a bunch of them. I just love the longevity of tv shows when compared with a movie, it gives us a lot of time to "connect" with the characters which is awesome! I don't deal with commercials since I see most of my shows online.

I don't hate or avoid TV but simply can't seem to find time for it. Most of my TV show viewing happens online and not on TV at all, so I don't watch it much. That doesn't mean I actively try to avoid it though.

I no longer have the luxury of watching television due to the ability of the computer to duplicate the TV's capabilities. Besides, there are channels online which are not available through regular cable TV.

I totally get what you mean by TV, it can really take a lot of time out of our day and we do become quite lazy watching TV show after TV show. That's why I really like that I now have the ability to record tv shows through my TV provider. It makes it so I can enjoy my day without worrying about when the show I wanna watch is on. Then at the end of the day when I am relaxing before bed I can enjoy watching a couple of my favorite TV shows.

I don't watch TV at all unless I visit my parents (they have it on sometimes during longer visits).
I watch some programs though, but I'd rather purchase it or watch online. I don't have TV. I can't take watching ads and mindlessly browsing through channels, it's not me.
So I stick to my laptop :)

This is exactly how I feel!! I very rarely tun on the t.v. anymore because I can watch a lot of the shows I want when I want on my laptop. (Thank you, HULU) I don't mind having to sit through a few ads and often the ads for your show are less than what they show on television.

I'm not as interested in "shows" as I used to be, except for things like America's Got Talent, I always like to watch that. I more prefer to watch John Stewart of something.

If I ever do turn on the t.v. it's because I'm out in the kitchen eating and I usually just turn it to old cartoons like spongebob. I don't care if I have seen that episode 10 times already.

Yes, I have grown to hate having it on, and I just use my television to watch shows that I have programmed to be recorded or watched on Netflix. Most of the shows I used to watch are cancelled or completed and now the new shows are just not even comparable.

I used to watch TV quite often when I was in college. Now, I don't watch TV anymore because I spend most of my time on my computer, which it is what technology has done people like me. I don't think there are good TV shows out there like it used to because back in the day people would just stay home all day and catch their favorite shows.

I honestly can't even stand the background noise of the TV even. Unfortunately my parents still like to watch a lot of TV but I shake my head at it because it's just so pathetic. The canned laughter and the overly loud presenters, it's all very annoying to me. On top of the fact it is very poor source of entertainment, it also affects your brainwaves and makes you more susceptible to believe any BS the mainstream media wish to push. Oh, and then there's the adverts :yuk

I don't hate it. I just choose not to watch television. I get all of my entertainment from the internet, meaning that I download all of my shows - which are free of ads - from the internet. I don't see the point of paying so much for cable TV when all the shows you want are accessible online. Also, the amount of brainwashing that goes on through the TV is astonishing, and people would be shocked to learn the impact that it has had on their personal views, including their prejudices.
