The post included a link, usually someone shouts "SPAM" when this happens, jokingly or otherwise. I didn't think it. that looks pretty cool as it happens.

Best you close down this site then..

Most of what we discuss includes a link.. I could understand a new poster but someone that has been here since 2008 with many many discussions..

I think some Mod owes a member an apology..

What next, removing links discussing Microsoft, Apple iPhones, Andriod, Blackberry.. Come on.. Spam is selling stuff, not discussing the benefits / values..

You might be reading my post wrong but I never objected to this thread, I never objected to any link, I only jokingly said that sometimes (and this has happened - even with me, jokingly, when I plugged Spotify) when a link is included sometimes some other member (jokingly) shouts spam. I am aware that sometimes (almost always in the news section) links are included, I have been here since 2008 as well you see. As you will see from the second post I made I never objected to anything, as I said, the Roku player looks cool. No objections here. Carry on.

There are those here who have incorrectly applied the spam label to a post imo. No problem. :)

BTW, I see spam on two levels:
1) post on one or multiple sites for the sole purpose of advertising a product similar to an advertisement.
2) multiple posts of identical content within one site in different forum sections.

I have a Roku and I love it. :D

Set up was a breeze. I got the XDS model.

I use it for Netflix and Hulu Plus mostly. I figure $18 a month for TV is much better than $70-100.

But some shows aren't on Hulu Plus. Nothing from AMC (including The Walking Dead). It's still super convenient though... and a ton of content.

Also the ability to rent on Amazon Video is a big plus too.

Still a lot of channels I haven't explored as well.

We would not be aloud Roku here or it would be useless..

We recently got Netflixs and for that it would be fine but my Samsung BlueRay player also has it for free on it now, just like YouTube..

The other issues are such as Hulu which are blocked here.. Content not Available in your AREA.. GRRRR... :(

In any case, my Wii and Blueray both get Netflixs so if I ever want to buy into the movie program I can get it without a problem..

Is a computer required for any portion of the setup such as establishing an account? I just got the XDS model too, but it has not arrived. BTW I am partial to Apple and would have snapped up Apple TV but it currently only goes up to 780 resolution. The XDS model does 1080. :)
Thanks!
