I figured this would be a good place to get some general ideas. The left side of my jaw has been randomly hurting(Just on and off) for the past few days. I know it's not a tooth, I can feel where it's hurting, around the area where the lower jaw connects to the upper(Near your last few teeth at the back of your head) jaw. It seems to just start hurting at random times, but mostly if I'm eating something(I even tried chewing the food on the opposite side, it still hurts). It has hurt before when I'm just talking or something though. I remember hearing about TMJ or something when Nancy had it(I think). Could it be something like that?

I have had TMJ for a looong time. Could be TMJ, or could be a tooth moving around, (if it's a wisdom, they often shift).

:homo:

It could be a tooth ache... It doesn't have to be where the tooth is, the pain can radiate down to the jaw.

is it on the same line edge as your teeth are on the bone or is it in the joint area where the end of the jawbone
is seated to the skull
when you move your jaw does it hurt
or only when there is pressure during bite
chewing or etc
if it is the joint and jaw movement that is one thing
if it is any possibility of the other
i bet it is an infected decayed area of one of your teeth or the jawbone near your teeth
basically what im saying is that in many cases when you have decay in a tooth
the pain may actually be in another location than the actual tooth
weird i know but whats happening is
your nerve endings are tingling farther from the actuall site of the damage
the tingling is pain when it is in your tooth or any tooth
so it is possible for a tooth on the top of your mouth to have decay down deep
and you can feel the pain in your lower jaw thinking that it is a tooth on your bottom set

That would be an abcess. Decay itself doesn't hurt at the root like that.

its hard to always put the right words down from your mind to the computer
you type fast then you skip words you are thinking if you are thinking to fast
then you forget where you started..
