Anti Virus software

AVG is making things run really slowly on my computer and making Firefox's pages lag really bad. Any suggestions for another program?

i use spybot serach and destroy, its free and no bullshit requried to get it (not sure if its the same now) with free updates.

no, it gets malware, viruses, trojans, etc. it also has an immunity feature.

When I installed AVG it also installed some AVG Firefox add-on bullshit that made my pages load really slow. Try disabling it, because besides that AVG is my favorite anti-virus.

AVG is the fucking pits if you have it on all the time.

Turn it off and only run it when you think you need to, or get WIndows Defender, which is way better anyway.

You don't have anything else running, do you? AOL has its own security center that doesn't play well with AVG. You can't have more than one anti-virus program installed. It doesn't end well.

i dont fug with AOL and i only have one anti virus... i got rid of AVG for the moment

argghhh....so thats what my problem is! I upgraded to AVG 8.0 and my computer has been bogged down ever since. I've been blaming my son for his online gaming but didnt realize that it might be my AVG. The old version never gave me any problems.

Guess I should look around for some new virus protection!

thats what I have been using for about ooh almost eight years now. I've never had issues with virus' since...its one I got Dell to recommend to its customers when they didn't want to pay for norton or mcafee. and it certainly doesn't wain on your resources like the others do. Its a clean and simple program, updates everyday on its own...registration is free as well.
