I wanted your opinions on the law system over anti-social behaviour?
My mother has been having a lot of problems with "gangs" of minors in her area..so far they've broken two windows, dented her car, cracked her front door, and are constantly abusive.

The police are called on each occasion...and leave warning the youths to stay away (yer that works)

I did try to solve this problem myself *bigs chest up* and went to visit the main instigators parents.............The father broke my arm ( i needed a operation and metal work) anyway im straying from the point...The police arrived, and i was told..if i made a complaint, then i would be arrested also, as he will make a allegation that i assaulted him!!!(go figure??)

It has been exactly 4 months since my mother has been harassed by these youths.....and still nothing has been done.

What i cant figure out is...these children are between the ages of 12-15...what the hell are there parents thinking? These "anti-christ" are out at 11 o'clock at night?? They have no morals , no ethics, no respect....and they get away with it!

All i can add is to say that i feel completely let down by the law system in this country, and if this is youth today what hope do we have for the future?

You went to talk and he broke your arm? If it is as straight forward as you describe, that is assault. I would have pressed charges.

I don't know what to tell you about these little bastards. I don't know if visiting the police station would help or not, but I do know an ineffective police department leads to people taking matters into their own hands. If you or yours is not ready for outright conflict, some would consider moving, but I realize this is totally an inadequate answer.

It sounds like you do have reason to be disgusted and disillusioned. :(

Big problem being very badly handled by the government. ASBOs have been abused more than used and yobs wear them as a badge of pride anyway. Give them real punishment, not these stupid worthless badges.

Yes it is how i described...i visited the parents..the father said he was making a citezens arrest?? and broke my arm by yanking it behind my back.I am a small person, 5"5, 7 st 6lbs, im very timid, and shy, due 2 my past...i dont have alot of confidence (bar behind a pc)...and there is no way that i could be at all threatening.
As for asbos...correct, they wear them with pride...when i was their age i would never abuse an adult..it sickens me.
