Newt Gingrich has announced his running for President. I can just hear the commercials now....and its not even July 4th yet...

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich announced via Twitter that he is seeking the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.

Gingrich, an 11-term former congressman from Georgia, becomes the first of the serious contenders to formally announce his candidacy.

Gingrich, a strong critic of President Obama, has been a polarizing figure in the past, pushing for the repeal of the health care law signed by Obama and gaining unwanted attention for his personal life.

The former college professor led the GOP effort to regain control of the House in 1994, dubbed the "Republican Revolution," and spearheaded the Contract with America. He was later disciplined by Congress in 1997 for ethics violations before he left as speaker after the 1998 midterm elections.

All I have to do is remember how self-righteous he was while Bubba's 'Lewinsky moment' was happening.

How funny it was that he was in a political 'family-values' huff all the while having a fling of his own.

Just another hypocritical, sold-out politician. Imagine that...

The only Republican I will vote for is Ron Paul. Period.

Too bad for all of us he'll never make it. The msm is already labeling him a kook again. Imagine my surprise. After the last election he went from a kook & a coward to the 'smartest man in the room'. Now as the race approaches..... It would be comical if not so sad.

Rest assured, we'll get the best politician money can buy. We can take that to the bank. Just ask Wall Street and the Military/Security Industrial Complexes.

THE GRINCH is among the sleaziest MOFO GOPers and unbelievably this guy is a hero to some. If there is a reason to run the GOP out of town, he would be it. Have you heard the BS he's been pandering lately? Like Obama ran an "unfair" election? That Obama has a "Kenian, anti-colonial mindset"? That he foisted a "con" on the American people? These are hateful statements, a cornerstone of GOPer tactics. And unfortunately there appear to be quite a few idiots lapping this stuff up.

I hope he becomes the GOPer nominee because I don't think he has a chance of winning, but in the back of my mind I admit by some fluke he would win, we, you and me and all average citizens are SCREWED.

I think Obama has pretty much secured another 4 years with the killing of bin Laden, pretty much like how Bush did it with his reaction to 9/11.

You may be right to some degree as far as the end election result, but the political forces who hated Obama before don't give a rats ass what he accomplishes, in fact they despise this happened under his watch, and he is still black and a Democrat who the GOPpers are still trying to paint as a foreigner. Plenty of reason in particular mindsets to hate. I just have to hope these forces reside securely in the minority.

That was still going on when he was elected last time though. Of course there will always be those extremist red neck types around at the election but it's the middle of the road voters who will decide the election. People as stupid as the far right would still vote Republican if a chimp was their candidate.

That's the way I see it too. Obama shored up his reputation lots when Osama was killed. If people are willing to remember that come election time, than he should have an easier time.

Obama's birth certificate and killing Bin Laden all within a week? Coincidence? I think not. Smooth political move I say. Right now the GOP is as big a train wreck as Obama's presidency. Right now this country can't win. On the bright side, Palin will never run. She is busy making it look like she might so that it helps her with her speaking gigs that she is making a killing off of. If she runs for anything it will be a Senate seat for AZ now that she bought a house there.
