I have only heard bits and pieces on this, anyone who has more information, please share.

A town local went to an amish school, and shot several students , This is within hours of sending his own children off to public school.

According to news reports he was seeking revenge for a 25 year old incident?

yeah i read about this he never said what the incident was, but they found he had lost a daughter in 1997. He chose the school because it was nearby and had little security. He sent the boys and adults outside, barracaded the doors and opened fire on the girls. He killed three of the girls and then himself.

Roberts was apparently preparing for a long siege, arming himself with a 9mm semiautomatic pistol, a 12-gauge shotgun and a rifle, along with a bag of about 600 rounds of ammunition, two cans of smokeless powder, two knives and a stun gun on his belt. He also had rolls of tape, various tools and a change of clothes.

What a coward. He shot only girls? All because his daughter was killed almost 10 years ago? I guess he showed them! I hope he rots in hell.

^^^ Agreed. Why always on the children? If he had that much rage he could have found a different outlet for it. He didn't have to kill innocent children.

it was on MSN's homepage all day & on the news last night. We're only a few hours away from there.

There are still little notifications that change on the homepage...

Something about him molesting girls in the past and dreaming about molesting girls again, being angry at God, and probably a few other things they'll dredge up. I don't think it was ALL because of his daughter dying.

He apparently also had sex lubricant on his person, but there was no evidence of any of the girls being molested.

That dude was seriously sick in the head. He had been dreaming about molesting little girls? I'm glad he killed himself. One less sick pervert in the world. I just think it is horrible that some innocent children had to die in the process. At least they were spared the horrors of being raped. Still, it is a shame that they were killed.

From what I have been reading it had nothing to do with his Daughter being killed, But rather an incident that happened more then 20 years ago, somehow he felt as if he had been wronged. I dont know

And the Amish being the godly people that they are, have gone to the family of the man who killed their kids, and offered forgiveness,

Hey guys,
I'm new posting here but wanted to share my ideas on the sick twisted incident.
It's sad that today things have gotten as bad as they have. The Amish school shooting makes 27 school incidents like this since 1997. The most remembered, or what I think you guys might remember is Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado where the two boys killed 12 students and a teacher and wounded 23 before killing themselves.
The Amish are peaceful. Noone can say they are linked to anything other than not protecting their schools quite enough. Are they to blame? Of course not. Because they are so peaceful and sheltered I guess you could say, none of them expected anything like this to happen. This man had serious issues within himself that only he could have done anything about. Even his own wife knew nothing about his thoughts. He put his children on the bus that morning, left a few notes for his wife and went straight to the school. Let the adults go, and the boys. One little girl was able to get away while he was tying up the other girls (she snuck out with his back turned). As it turns out, she was the younger sister of one of the girls that died that dreary day. The other 5 girls that were shot are in serious or critical condition at 2 Children's Hospitals.
The world today is sad. I'm afraid for my children. :(

Thats so nice, but does he even deserve those generous Amish peoples forgiveness?

No, he doesn't, but that is what makes his crime even more appaling, He attacked people who are the least violent in this country, and those who's life he destroyed, offer him forgiveness.

It's been on the news that the Amish comunity is raising money for the family of the man who shot their daughters. If the rest of the world had 1/10th the compasion that they do, the world would be a much better place.

Apparently he had dreams about molesting girls again and didn't like himself anymore. It appears as if he had every intention of molesting the girl, killing them and killing himself. The police got there in time to stop him from molesting the girls, but just weren't able to get into the school fast enough to save all of them.
What a tragedy.
