This particular quote bothers me:
“They could have killed the opening and it wouldn’t have hurt the show at all,” said the Kentucky GM. “We wish somebody had thought this through. It’s somewhere between ignorance and incompetence.”
Ignorance and incompetence? How about this instead. The producers of the Emmy's were really busy getting everything prepared for the show and probably hadn't even heard the news about a commuter plane going down in Kentucky until way after the fact. I can honestly say that if the plane crash had been anywhere else other that the US no one would have said a thing.
I feel for the families of those who died on that flight, but honestly people, it's not like the producers of the Emmy's were purposefully taking cheap shots at them.
