It's Halloween again. It's time to bring out all them horror movies. I have a lot of horror movies saved in my external hard drive. I've watched about half of them and I plan to watch more this coming Halloween. The horror movies that I have are a combination of Asian and American horror movies. Which do you think is better?

Both have good and bad ones, I suppose. I love American horror movies because I don't have to read subtitles, but Asian ones usually bring out a tone and atmosphere that's very unique to their own brand. If I had to choose something to watch this Halloween, I'd go with an Asian one, particularly the Ring series. Just because I've been watching American horror movies exclusively for some time now and could use a change of pace.

I prefer some asian horror movies over american mainly because they are able to create.a scarier atmosphere in their movies than we are. Thete are some really good scary american movies out there, but I think that they should not remake the asian ones because they have a hard time creating the same scary atmosphere.

Definitely Asian Horror Movies although hearing them talk japanese/chinese/korean kinda breaks the immersion for me sometimes but they still make awesome horror movies, almost 80% of the horror movies we've been seeing in American Cinema are based on asian movies ( The Ring, The Grudge, The Eye, Shutter and much more ).

I like both. The ring and the grudge were brilliant (Japanese versions), but my favourite horror is insidious which is American. I'm not keen on remakes but i suppose they are easier to understand even if they lack the eeriness of the original. However, America special effects are better and therefore more believable.

Asian horror films are definitely scarier and original. That sounds biased, since I'm Asian and all, but I do want to say this in all honesty. A lot of Asian thrillers which were remade in Hollywood for English/American versions turned out bad and don't come up to par with the originals.
