I saw that and right away thought of something I learned in art class. It was common for artists to use devices such as camera obscuras and camera lucidas .

Mirrors project the image the artist wishes to draw https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camera_lucida and it can then be traced and drawn in. If you check online you can buy them.

I used an over head projector (light mirror and magnify) to paint a mural of Iwa Jima flag raising that was about 5 foot round

to be honest,any of my pictures that you've seen wont have had much done to them

special camera hardware and setup takes a lot of practice and know
let along shot taking lighting and so on....
takes great talent it maybe natural for some and impossible for others
like the thumb shot and daytime sunlight flash people
