Sheriff Deputies and animal investigators rescue almost 80 dogs at a puppy mill that are severely malnourished and dehydrated.
Vets say many of the dogs wouldn`t live another week, and 50 of them now have a new home at the Humane Society in Pulaski County.
Kay Jordan with the Humane Society says, "It was disgusting. It was disgusting. The officers couldn`t stay in the house. The urine and feces smell was so bad they had to go outside, they couldn`t stand the smell. We tried to give these dogs regular water and they don`t know what it is. They`re used to the rain coming off the roof or whatever."
Several dogs were dehydrated, some didn`t have the energy to close their own mouths and every dog had nails that looked like they had never been clipped.
Now, they have a new home, with a fresh start, but unfortunately, there are several other dogs out there that aren`t so lucky.
"It hurts me," Jordan says. "It hurts me to see this because I know there are hundreds and hundreds in Arkansas just like this one or worse. I know they`re there."
