Yeah this story is crazy. I work in Kirkland, right next to Bellevue! Damn, I could have driven by her and not even known she was down there :(

Not enough police officers and too much red tape lends hand to ineffective law enforcement.

Glad to hear she survived. What an ordeal!

It really is a sad day and age when the police automatically think the worse of the husband...

There are three people who are immediately prime suspects in a case like this where there is a strong possibility of foul play (Scott Peterson, et al):

The last person who saw them alive.
The person who reported them missing.
The spouse.

That's the way it is...

Understandable, but there was no evidence of strong foul play here? For all the officers knew, the wife left her husband.

Glad she survived and I hope she has no permenant after effects.
4 days seems too long before mounting a search.

I'm just wondering what the rest of ya'll might do, but if it was me and my husband or b/f was expected home and didn't make it, I'd be out there driving the route I thought he would be taking and looking for him. Would you?

Woman found alive 8 days later - U.S. Life - MSNBC.com

umm, dang! I see both sides, but I'd be HOT if I was the hubby :wtf:

Damn. How the hell did she survive 8 days without eating. I can't go for missing one meal.

Pity the husband had to wait so long before any action could have been taken to try and find his wife. Guess there's just too much suspicion involved with spouse's disappearances. All the while the lady layed there suffering. Pity dat.

I'd say the pain and shock made the hunger less noticeable.

Something very similar happened to a girl I went to school with (though she was several years ahead of me) She was in her car in a ravine for 4 days. A pedestrian walking by saw the taillights.

And see, that's EXACTLY why I'd be hot.
I think she'll make it, but if she doesn't, heads should roll.

The law enforcement agencies involved are going to spin it, and they made two good points
1) It's not illegal not to come home
and
2) If we treated every one of these like a full-out missing person case, that's all we'd be doing.

I dig that. But if I'M the husband involved, I make it UNBELIEVABLY clear that this HAS to be dealt with. I'd start a fire in front of the PD, or get myself arrested, or stand in the middle of an intersection with a missing person poster. And I'd be looking.

If my wife came up missing and I thought I was getting the shaft by the po po, I'd get the local media involved at a minimum. They love this kind of shit.

Yeah...the media. That should get things going. Trick would be to get them involved. However they may not want to take it up until some more time had passed.

One good thing the husband did with regard to the police though was he put himself and his house open to search.

absolutely. Gave not a single reason to act suspicious. That should have alerted the authorities to his authenticity, at least before four days' time.
