Age Refrencing And Whatnot

I just feel like ranting about this, because I am witnessing this shit on another forum to. Why do so many people about the ages of 21 assume they are king shit, just because they are older? Like on the other forum, it is a forum for extreme horror movies. Well, the little kiddies ages 8 and up join, and fucking act like they rule the boards, and complain, and bitch and moan, and ruin the board for us all. Well, I'm 15, so I get bunched into the "Child" category with those assholes. And the thing is, about 75% of the time, when I'm not hyper, I'm lightyears ahead of most adults I know maturity wise. Now, that doesn't mean I think anyone on here is immature, though I could easily point out a few. But the point is, why the hell discriminate agaisnt 14-17 year olds, when it's the littler dumbshit kids that are causing the trouble? And why is it that most adults treat 14-16 year olds like they are still 5? I always get this line when I meet relatives I don't remember, "I remember when you were knee-high to a grasshopper!!" I'm LITERALLY 26 fucking days away from getting my learner's, but people still act like I'm 5 years old. For instance, I can't even talk to a girl, without my sister saying, "Oh look!! He hit puberty, he got a girlfriend!!!!" Or for example, sometimes on here, I still get treated like I'm 5 and whatnot. Are people in general just discriminating and shit, or is it just that I'm seeing more of it every day? Sorry for the long post/rant. Had to get it out of my system.

Don't take it to personal man. You have to remember, we were all 15 once too and we all went through the same crap. When you get older it's a priviledge you get to pick on the younger people. But once you get TOO old, the young guys start picking on you. They are just busting your balls, don't let it get to you.

Another thing you must remember. You are only 15, and I know most 15 year olds think they know a lot more then they really do. I know I did at that age. So when you act like you know it all as kid, which you are (not making fun, just saying), then people that are older then you are going to remind you that you are only 15. Trust me, you will look back on your childhood and realize how little you actually knew. But that's fine and to be expected.

Don't let it get to you, it happens to everyone. But I do know the feeling.

Seriously, Ron, don't worry about it. To me, at 23 years old this just sounds like high school drama that's starting up. Once you get to be about 18-19 and graduate high school you'll look back on all the shit that pissed you off and think 'who gives a shit?'

There are a mixture of factors going on here.

a. You are not the legal age of adulthood as sanctioned by the governing body of the United States of America, therefore, you are legally still a child.

b. When you come on and act immature, we're going to make certain you are aware of it, because it is obvious to us.

c. As Kev said...we've been there, done that, and there aren't a single one of us who think we knew it all back then. We've wised up and realized that we were little wankers and wankettes.

d. You have to let the whole goth/emo thing go. We started that back in the 80's because we had Robert Smith leading the cause...and that cause ended when we traded in our Cure shirts for the GnR shirts in the 90's. That was when we went back to grunge...but I digress. Nobody really cares if you are either goth or emo, so stop shoving it down our throats. Getting upset about it only makes us laugh at your expense.

e. This is only the internet. If there is something that you find offensive on it, it should not matter.

f. Just for the record, the only teen I ever give props to for being mature is my oldest son, and that's because he actually does take care of his younger siblings and always has. When you are cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a schedule for four, then I might change my opinion of you...but for now, you're just a little kid on a forum. No skin off my back if you're here or not.

and another thing that goes on in forums is when you join a certain car site say for camaro's or mustangs. the V8 guys pretty much always push around the 4 banger/V6 guys. so its not always and age thing but i guess a power thing whether it be in cars or all in mighty thing.

The funny thing with that is I sit on MF and push around the V8 guys. lol It's funny when I get attacked while I'm at work, and when I get home half the regulars are defending me. haha

Ok, why does it matter how I dress? This is not a debate on if I am goth or not. I don't consider myself "goth" by any means. I'm just my plain old self. But the way I dress, and what music I listen to falls into the category of gothic. And I hate emos, how many times must I say it? I don't cut or cry, or any of that emo shit. And I have no intention of stabbing myself in the eyes with a fork and becoming mentally unstable, nor do I plan on "shoving it down your throats". And by the way, I do cook/clean/maintain a schedule for 5 people when my mom goes off for days on end, be it she is in the hospital, or has no time to do housework. So stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

one thing you fail to realize as it's the internet, most of those people would be to scared to say anything in person, it lets them play who they wish they could be instead of what they are...because they feel safe in the place..just like pussy in cars who give you the finger and don't think anything will happen
