Ok- I have never had to use facial cleaners in the past because my skin was always good.. After I had gotten pregnant with my last son - things went crazy. My face was breaking out and it was horrible.. (when I say horrible, It was about 2-3 zits on my face.. not so bad) Ive been using proactive for the last month or so and my face is getting worse. I am getting blk heads and white heads - not to mention more zits. Do any of yall have any suggestions on how to get it cleared up? I am sick of it.

thanks in advance

(ps.. I put this in health since its KINDOF health)

as a teenager, i know about acne. some people see dermatologists, mine just threw a bunch of shit at me that made me get sunburns in the winter, and made my face smell like sulfur. the solution for blackheads was to use this needle like instrument to pop them, basically as affective as your finger nails.

different products work for different people. once you find a routine and product that works, you need to keep with it. i've been washing my face with a generic face soap i stole from my hotel in canada :D. i also use clearasil ultra acne fighting astringent, it works well but it can dry out your face pretty easy.

there are plenty of black head remover scrubs out there that have beads and stuff in them. then i know some girls use those strips you pull off. i use this nivea for men stuff that also makes it easier for me to shave. but the key is your pores are heat sensitive. they open up with heat and close with cold. if you use steam or just a hot shower/bath, then scrub your face you should get rid of some of them. you can also try to pick at them if you're really impatient. splashing your face with cold water afterwards can help prevent more build up.

i've heard certain make ups can cause break outs. also touching your face excessively can get dirt/oil in your pores. be sure to wash your hands.

that's literally everything i know.

there are some face products that nutragena came out with...I started using them b/c I'm breaking out A LOT with the pregnancy. I got wet clothes and a face scrub. I don't know if there was much of a difference b/c of my hormones, but I think it's something that I'm going to use more when my 9 months are up.

Dial soap. :)

I swear, all of these products that are specially designed to help with acne only work for a few days, but then you skin adapts, and you're worse off then before you started.

I'll tell you what I told my wife, and what I do myself. Both of us have cleared up.

Dial soap bar. It's a cheap, orange, anti-bacterial soap. Wet your hands and face. Hold bar with both hands, and twist/spin it once or twice to cover your hands. Rub your hands on your face for like 5 seconds (no crazy scrubbing or rubbing it in. 5 seconds should be enough) Rinse immediately (really, don't wait). Dry with clean soft towel. Do this once in the morning, and once right before bed.

I'm 3 for 3 with this advice. Good luck you. :)

Moisturise. All anti-acne products just seem to make matters worse by being too harsh.

Moisturising regularly should stop any break outs, and failing that the best zit cure ever is TCP. Stinks a bit though.

Only thing that has ever worked for me is proactive. Pores clog with bacteria and dead skin. You need to exfoliate to get that off. Eventually if you do this, it will clear up. All the stuff docs gave me burned the hell out of my skin and made the problem worse, much worse.

I use a buff puff and phisoderm in the shower and before I go to bed. If I have any zits, I put some clearasil on it for a few days and it goes away.

**I thought Proactive was only an infomercial that celebrities, who all have clear skin because of make-up and airbrushing, acted in!

i've heard proactive was the best... that disappoints me!

i get heat bumps on my forehead in the summer... they arent black heads and not zits.... i dunno what they are really... but i use clearsil (the moist cloths) a few times a day, and it keeps me oil free... and i use clearasil night time scrub-- i dunno what the real name of it is...

i guess you'll have to go through a bunch and see what works for you V...everyone's skin is different and will react differently to products.
