Absenthe now legal

I would have put this in the current events section but apparently it's been old news now for almost a year.
But yes it is true the legendary drink known as Absenthe, now spelt Absente, is now legal in the US for the first time since the very early 1900s. What they did was take out the Wormwood, an addictive ingredient in Absenth and replace it with it's very close but non-addictive cousin Southern Wormwood. Besides that it's all the same. So drink up, and LONG LIVE THE GREEN FAIRY!

Been legal over here for a while. It's quality stuff though I'd be careful with it. It's twice as strong as vodka!:eek I Remember the first time I found it down in Soho. My friend and I got totally rat arsed on it. A minuture bottle of the stuff is the equivellent of drinking 4 pints. I've never had a drink which literally goes straight to your head as quickly either!

Yea it's 55%, or 110 proof, alcohol if I'm not mistaken. It's was only illegel here because of the addictive properties of the Wormwood, with that gone the US FDA has no problem allowing it back.

i dont remember absinthe ever being illegal here...the only illegal part was the wormwood, which is the hallucenogin that is what made it...well...absinthe. The stuff they sell here isn't even worth it. You can actually buy wormwood online and distill your own absinthe in vodka...much better than drinking the nasty crap without the wormwood. If it's gonna be that gross they might as well put the wormwood in it, because unless it's getting me super fucked up it's not even worth my time....

annnnnd again the fact that wormwood is addictive, well that is BS, government propoganda for ya...the only reason it was illegal was because wormwood makes you trip. IT resembled other illegal drugs too much, so they banned wormwood. But I have been able to buy absinthe here in the liquor stores for 3-4 years..

What's imoral about drinking? I am 20, and I don't drink because I simply don't enjoy it. But I see nothing wrong what so ever with my frineds drinking who are underage. And if you really want to get completly wasted, get some Everclear. That shit is 198 proof or 99% alcohol. It's not even legal in all 50 states. That's how you drink.
