Id like to open this up to peeps in UK and worldwide, I dont like the way us british people have to pay for privileged and bithright people to have an advantage, I prefer all are equal.. I got these quotes, they are not my words.
"The Crown Estate has long been and always will be national property, it is not the personal property of the Windsors and would not be ‘returned’ to them if the monarchy were abolished. The ‘exchange’ that monarchists believe happened in the eighteenth century, when the monarch was granted the Civil List was no exchange at all. It was an agreement that the Crown Estate revenue needed to be transferred to parliament because it was now parliament that had to pay for the state. Because the King had previously used the Crown Estate to pay for both the state and his own lifestyle the government of the day agreed a civil list to ensure he was financially secure"
There is no evidence that supports the claim that tourism would decline if we abolished the monarchy. As for the ‘great service’, again, where’s the evidence? ‘Self service’ would be a more appropriate phrase, the Windsors do all they can to further their own interests and protect their positions (and help themselves to public money). Some of them turn up to charity events or add their names to charities, but the vast majority of charities in this country, and most of the big names such as Oxfam, do not need or seek royal patronage.
*runs away..........but will return*
