Ive thought about the whole magazine or something similar...I just dont know how to go about doing that. ... if you have any ideas on that id greatly appreciate it![]()
Have you considered trying to write for some local magazine of something you're interested in? I used to write the odd article for the RACS Quarterly (Real Ale Club Sawbridgeworth) a local beer club based at my local pub. It was mainly articles about our trip out to some beer festival or brewery. It wasn't exactly prestigious but it's a good place so start and nice to see your work in print. Just an idea.![]()

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. Good way to get your foot in.
Compile a few pieces for your portfolio to give them a feel for your writing. Send them in to relevant department. If possible, and this would be much better, make personal contact with relevant personnel before doing so and perhaps organise for interview where you can present and have one on one meeting. Of course, any insider recommendations to put in a good word and set up appointment will go a long way.
I would suggest this course of writing articles for magazine and such more favorable as opposed to trying to write novel and hoping to get published because that would be a long and extremely competitive process.
So start putting your pieces together and see what you can get going. The hardest part is the start and getting a foot in.
