The ARMY. Why is it seen as "inferior" to other branches such as the Marines? Is the ARMY underfunded? Less training? Acceptance of less qualified individuals?

Are there any solutions to these suspected problems?

The ones I bolded. Of course, they'll never admit to it. Ask anyone in the Army, and every other branch is inferior. It's pride, and it's a good thing.

Wow, those weeks should be YEARS imo.
My brother's in Army bootcamp now. 15 weeks and he'll be a soldier and a fully qualified tank crewman.

It takes 16 weeks in the Marines (bootcamp and Marine Combat Training, where you'll learn the coveted "slice the pie" technique) before you're a basically qualified Marine. Then you have to go to your MOS school.

Hence, Marines are superior.

So basically the army is simply "filler"?

why AEF are you thinking of joining ???
Not a chance. I want to be a teacher. Although I think mortars or artillery would be fun.

i dont know if this right or not
because this is how it used to be
its probably not like this anymore
but the marines were put up on a pedastal because
basically they were the expendable branch
and what better moral but to be the best
the navy would ride over drop the marines off
a bunch of people got killed
when the ok was sounded other services came in and cleaned up
and provided hospitals food backup fighter support
with better weaponery
the other services have all the better technology and were not as
expendable
but i dont know for sure that is just what i heard
to me all branches of the service are awesome
there is no one better branch

The Marines are the first ones to be deployed. In some cases, the only ones to be deployed. This is why their training is much more complex.

Also, what dt3 said is right. It's all relative. My father (Navy) calls foot soldiers, "grunts". Meaning they're the dumb-dumbs who get given a gun, pointed in the direction of the enemy, and told to go kill them. It's just interdepartmental rivalry, which pushes each department to do better than the other.
