Everyday is a battle. We are all a thread away from sorrow, happiness, misery and every other human emotion. Just one small thing can shift your attitude and alter your day. just one small story, decision, song, poem or just the feeling of another's mood. There are many negative things in this world. Sometimes, I feel as if the negative has out numbered the positive in a massive quantity for years. I feel that being positive shouldn't be something that someone should have to be reminded of. It should be a natural state of consciousness. I can breathe, walk, sing, praise my lord and rae at the beauty he provided me. Why am I so full of sorrow? Could it be my surroundings?
With that being said. I have a challenge for any who would like to participate. I have constantly seen threads that consist of horrific news. I challenge you fellow OTzers. I challenge you to find a news story with GOOD news and make a thread. Lets fill the world we share everyday with positive thoughts. In hopes that we may look upon those threads when we feel all is lost and maybe gain at least a fragment of positive energy to guide us back to the light when we walk enveloped in darkness.
Here is my Story:
5 yo boy dressed as Spiderman saves baby from blaze
Published: November 13, 2007
A five-year-old boy dressed in a Spider-Man suit became a real superhero in Brazil when he saved a baby girl from her burning home.
While playing in his back garden with a friend, Riquelme Maciel spotted smoke coming out of the wooden house’s windows and ran to tell the baby’s mother, Lucilene dos Santos.
But Ms Santos was too afraid to enter the blaze, so it was down to young Maciel to step in and save the day - he rushed into the burning house and grabbed baby Andrieli from her cradle.
The Fire Department Chief Jose de Macedo praised the boy’s bravery, and much like his hero Spider-Man, Maciel became the talk of the town.
His face made it to the cover of all the local newspapers and he no longer needs the red and blue costume to be recognised.
Maciel said he is now dreaming of becoming a fire-fighter so he can save more lives.
