A-a-a-a-choo!!!!

Smoking bans are not good for states. It's better to leave it up to the businesses. Maybe see if they would switch to where there's only smoking in part of the bowling alley?
I'm not sure how old the place is, but hopefully their ventilation system is good too. That always helps a ton.

smoke still carries... I remember going to clubs right after the smoking ban took effect to get air, there would be tons of ppl smoking and even though theres no smoking inside i still went home smelling like an ashtray

The intent at some point as i understand it is for the lanes to be smoke free but the bar to remain smoking. For this to happen there will be additional expense to the bowling lanes and require city approval and inspection. This has been an ongoing discussion for about a year. I think some of the smokers are working against it in the background. I know being a smoking facility has cost the owner several tournament opportunities.

there's a bowling place near thats smoke free, but the bar inside isnt. its situated off in a corner not near the lanes or food court. you cant smell it.....that is unless you walk by and the door is being opened!

everything here is smoke free. places have accommodated to smokers by building outside patios. the few places that arent smoke free have had to become private clubs to keep their smoking policy

You know Dana it is not my choice to make other's decisions for them. I believe smoking like drinking is a personal choice. Pre-marital sex and those consequences are a personal choice. Many things are legal which I choose to avoid. It does not mean I am right. Just like for some making pot and other drugs legal is a campaign for them. Not for me because I choose not to do those things. If I was king of the world I am not sure smoking would be in my top 100 concerns.

I used to smoke an ocasional cigar and maybe if the ban hadn't gone into effect I may agree with you. One thing they're trying to do here that I don't really agree with is making the entire state smoke free meaning you won't be able to smoke anywhere.

I might smoke two or three cigars a year. When I was younger more often. I prefer not to be around smoke as a general rule.

It is my opinion that smoking be banned at all public places especially where kids and older people are. I think this also should include banning it even @ apartment complexes. Smoking posts so much health risks to non-smokers given that they don't have the filters from nicotine compared to the person smoking. A lot of expenses are incurred by the government, healthcare system etc and medical researches done just coz of smoking.

Be careful out there AUFred. Having symptoms of difficulty breathing should may be a sign to avoid exposure to 2nd hand smoking. I know you might be aware of that- it's just a friendly reminder, of course :)
