11th Dimension & Parallel Universes

in 1995 physicist Ed Witten proposed the existence
of an 11th dimension
he did so to in order to account for a troubling
anomaly in String Theory: five different and
seemingly valid string theories had emerged,
and this had theoretical physics spinning its
wheels
Witten’s extra dimension triggered a revolution in
thinking about nature of the universe; for example,
it allowed for the existence multi-dimensional
membranes
these membranes, with sufficient energy,
could be as big a universe
according to M-theory, our universe resides in
one such membrane, and further, it may exist
side by side with other universes that occupy
other membranes in a higher dimensional space
the video below presents these propositions in
greater depth

the above video is a brief excerpt from NOVA’s
The Elegant Universe, it can be seen in full here

Scientists use reasoning and logic. However, logic has its limitations:

In the 1930s, Austrian mathematician Godel proved
a theorem which became the "Godel theorem" in
cognition theory. It states that any formalized
'logical' system in principle cannot be complete
in itself. It means that a statement can always be
found that can be neither disproved nor proved
using the means of that particular system. To
discuss about such a statement, one must go beyond
that very logic system; otherwise nothing but a
vicious circle will result. Psychologists say that
any experience is contingent - it's opposite is
logically possible and hence should not be treated
as contradictory.

Gödel's Incompleteness Theorem

The Hindu Vishnu Purana says that the earth is merely one
of thousands of millions of inhabited worlds like
itself to be found in the universe. Since they are
created by the one Alimighty who is infinite, they all
must look similar. This excludes the possibility of other dimentions
including the E.T. (extra terrestial beings with fantastic gears)
proposed by some science finction writers.
