I have three poems that are being publish in a book named "Immortal Verses" one of them is also a finalist in the International Poetry Contest and has already won an editors choice award I will paste the poem and then the link to rate them below it you don't have to rate them but if you feel the need please do!
I'll start with the one that is a finalist in the IPC

Light of Love

If your trying your hardest but don't feel you will win,
as the light fades out and shadows come creeping in.

When it seems it may be the end and your heads full of doubt,
a bright light shines through and it carries you back out.

When life seems so full of the pain and despair,
just remember that light will always be there.

The flame of this light is fueled by the strongest of love,
and will even shine brighter then the stars up above.

A love that a parent should have for their child,
a love that makes the heart race and run wild.

Life isn't a game but I am certain you'll win,
if your love is so strong your light never dims.

Broken

A lost soul without a clue,
always down and feeling blue.

A heart so big yet always broken,
full of words that go unspoken.

His fighting spirit leads him blind,
on a quest for love he may never find.

He always falls for lies and tricks,
and all the pain inside him sticks.

What hurts him most and makes him sad,
is to think of all the things he had.

People who he once made so happy,
now just try to make his life crappy.

The hole he digs himself gets deeper,
in hopes that he may meet the reaper.

That may take away all his pain,
so he can start over and try again.

Empty Words

She told me she would never take her away,
but she lied and the pain effects me everyday.
It has been this way for the past three years,
the whole time has been full of sadness and tears.
Every moment without her my heart continues to crack,
a loss of time is something we can't ever get back.
Missing out on things that I never got to see her do,
hurts my heart deeply and leaves me feeling so blue.
My pride and joy has been stripped away from me,
every child needs their father and many others agree.
When the mother is doing it all out of spite,
it hurts the father and child and that's just not right.
You try to be civil and tell her that its not fair,
and how much it hurts you but she just don't seem to care.
To get your child back you do the things that she asks,
then she doesn't follow through after you fill the tasks.
But we will be together again it is what we call fate,
I just hope that it happens before its too late.
When I do get back that little girl whom I adore,
I will feel so much better because she is my hearts core.

'Empty Words' was my favourite.

May I make a suggestion? Next time, try not to make all your poems rhyme. Think about something to write about, then write about it. The first line can be short, the second line can be long, it doesn't matter. Rhyming is good, but not for every poem. :)

Other than that, very good work. Makes me wonder whether I should post any of mine...

I do have poetry that doesn't rhyme but my favorites are the ones that do rhyme and actually on poetry.com they have a rhyming dictionary... I look at myself as a lyricist rather then a poet I guess... but thank you for the constructive criticism Makedde;)

And thank you to everyone for your comments and support!
And thank you vshayes for voting for them I appreciate it!
