One advice I was given was never buy a lens without checking it out.

I am a HUGE fan Nikon cameras, especially because of the way they feel in your hands. Plus my favorite photographer of all time only uses Nikon cameras so... ya. I have a Nikon D-40. They cost about 500$ And you can by a 200 mm lens with it for like another 75$ (Highly recommended of course) So far I haven't found one con to this camera either then it having lower quality then better cameras... but still very very high quality for the price! If your going to get a newer version of this camera don't get anything below the D-70s because they are simply not worth the price. The best camera with the best price is the D-100 I think, although it is pretty expensive. But if you have the cash I would definitely go with it!

Actually I think the D90 might even be better priced then the D100... The movie feature is super cool and in HD. Yeah, I would go with the D90. If I upgrade that would be the camera of my choice, in 2 years lol.

I think it's better to use the D90 or D100 then the D300. They are faster at taking pics and you are most likely to get the picture with them... better to get the pic, then to not get it but if you had you would have gotten it in better quality.

well tbh..ther enothign worng with the quality of the cam i got now..i just want a new 1..its time ot upgrade me thinks.. the onyl problem with the d50 is the LCD is really small and u cant zoom into the images

You can't? I can on my D-40.... it's really useful actually, I can take a picture of something really far and zoom in to see what it is. When we were looking for polar bears in the arctic I would take a picture of a white spot miles away and zoom into see if it was a white rock or a polar bears...

I am gonna have to check that. Because it would be nice to do that to see if the picture is clear. I have taken lots that were just a bit blurry due to light conditions that I thought were clear

I think I did great on the lens deal...Sony Alpha 350K 14.2MP Digital SLR with 18-70mm and 75-300mm Lens Kit after taxes and a four year plan it all came to well over 1100 bucks...LMAO there went my 1000 budget I gave myself eh...lmao but I liked it SO much I thought fuck it I want it I've waited ten years I can have it...right so be honest...what do think? did I do ok?

Sweet!! It's very similar to the one my mom has and she LOVES hers! As long as you like it and are pleased with the photos (which I know you will be...nice cam!) that's all that matters!

base price is about in line with others selling the same thing;
Ritz Camera was $50 cheaper but they did not have the 4 year plan. just two extended years. so hard to compare.

personally I would have gone to a Canon or Nikon because of the lens issue. Unless Sony cameras are compatible with other lenses.

and yes it is hard to keep on budget. you should have bought the next model or two up given the savings you made on you car.

Yeah some guy while I was there was saying another company was bought out buy sony and their TOP of the line lenz that go for like 1000's each fit the sony i bought AND you can buy them for cheap he was saying he picked up a few for just over 50 bucks...so that was a real selling feature for me...and who ever the guy he was about to give me his card(photographer here in town), but then the hubby joined us and scared him off. lmao...hubby said I thought I'd join you before he completely made a fool out of himself for you.:24::thumbup I didn't even realize the guy was hitting on me...just shows yeah...but anyway...so...I'll have lots of lenz to chose from...I'm shitting over the price though. I can't believe I paid that much for it...I looked at the canon Bill and didn't like how it felt...the sony is lighter and more balanced. I gave the Nikon a hlf a look...but...I'm so bent on sony... I tried to talk them down to the sale price they had on Friday...same cam for 5something, but she wouldn't so then I coasted their web site a bit more and saw this deal and thought hell I'll get that as the 300mm lenz was almost 300 bucks on its own.....but I'm still shitting...I honestly can't believe I spent that much...I feel crazy...like I should have spent half that....lmao and I DID go up a modle I think...as I was looking at the rebels first and they are much cheaper.:ninja...ok...i seriously need to get over the price tag OMGGGGGGGGG:eek... I said to the husband, aren't you glad I only do that every ten years.
