ooooOOOOOoo... Didn't see this thread... let me make one tonight and I'll post it up before I go to bed..
for 2 designs, yes.
i threw the first.
that one was 4 layers before compressing down to one.
the colors did not come out right during the initial compression, so i had to combine them in the way such that would work, and the text colorations were not expected, but left in there, cuz they was cool, nymeen?

the majority of the time was figuring out a decent background, which that one was based from a juliet fractal :cool
I think this one.. if it were blue to match the rest of the site...
...or it could stay if we changed the colors of the site:cool
I hope we can use this thread to brainstorm ideas back and forth as to what works and what doesn't. I think we can get a great logo for the site by taking many ideas and working them down to one great logo.
I think that will work a lot better than just a few entries thrown up and a quick vote...
It will also help if people throw out some feedback to what is being posted so we can all get a feel for what works and what doesn't. And I say we leave this going until we get something that works.
Veronica and I can give out rep to all of those who are working on it, not just a winner take all sort of thing...

I hope whoever is posting up ideas doesnt take offense to criticism, and those that are commenting realize that whether or not you like someone's idea- they did work hard on it, and we should be aware of their feelings

Is it that the game control thingy is cos we have games here too? If so, then I could see why you did that and is part of this forum, as is the rest in what you have produced there.
I like this one.

I find the game controller pic makes it look as tho its a game console (Playstation, Xbox)) forum.
The style of the logo looks pretty good tho.
Might be best to change the bground colour to something more suitable to the theme colour (blues).
The globe would be better with a glow around rather than the harsh white stroke around.
