Amber's due in 3 weeks...which we all know means she could pop the little guy out tomorrow. We've never done this before so I was wondering if y'all had any tips or advice. I for one am not looking forward to spending 2 or 3 days in the hospital :yuk

That tone will change when you see your child for the first time... I won't be able to properly describe what it's like to become parents... right now you may be saying that you don't want to spend that time in the hospital, but once he arrives, you won't want to be away from him...

It doesn't matter what anyone tells you, they just won't be able to properly convey how you will feel when you see him for the first time.

make sure she has comfy bathrobe and slippers or socks....she probably wont want to stay in the hospital gown the whole time....

oh yeah and in case amber doesnt know this already....tell her (or if you read this amber) they put some water proof pads down under her in the bed after she has the baby...they usualy keep spares in the bassinet thing or one of the drawers of the room...

get as many as you can...just take em' home....trust me they come in handy for putting the baby on to feed or change...will save you tons of trouble and money when the lil' one spits up or when the flying poop happens ;)

enjoy! :)

Take your pillow with you... the reclining chairs are only comfortable for the first hour...

Her room has a nice comfy couch that I'm sure will be fine for at least 2 hours. :D

they dont have double beds there? Our maternity ward had big beds so mommies and daddys could sleep together during there stay

i didnt mean the hospital blankets though thats a good idea too (i stil have about 7 of the ones from kylie) but the pad she (amber) will be sleeping/laying on its waterproof so no stains will get through from the bay once youre home.

When she is laboring, dont leave the room! My husband left the room to go get a coke and I swear he was gone forever and it was only a couple of minutes and I got so scared and upset.
When it comes time for her to push, hold her hand, let her squeeze your hand, tell her how well she is doing. Just be as nice and sweet as you possibly can. Believe me, she will remember :)

And then never let you forget it ;) :ninja
