yeah so since i quit my job we have no way to afford my bally's bill of $400 each month...they will NOT let us cancel it...so my only option was to report my CC stolen..and just deal with paying collections after the wedding because our money is extremely tight right now.. Anyways...so I did that about 3 weeks ago...and on friday, low and behold, that $400 charge came out and I still had not received my new debit card in the mail from my bank. I call them today and they said their systems were down at the time that I called them....ummm...ok...wtf? So then I come up with this story...that I had thought that my CC was cancelled already and didn't know any different, so I went and paid my Bally's bill in person in cash because I knew it would be declined on my card...so they are disputing the charge...I just now realized that this could get me in some major shit...and now I don't know what to do. I just need that $400 back really bad...is this CC fraud? ugh.

PS- Bally's is robbing me basically because i dont go there anymore...and they will NOT cancel that $400 monthly charge, which is BS. The gym is a luxury, not a necessity. I can use my apartment gym for godsakes!

did you sign a contract with bally? saying you would join for so and so number of months. If not just explain that to your bank that you dont go there anymore have no contract and they wont cancel. They should handle it for you.

How you handled it could be considered cc fraud. But if you handle the next convo with them explain you had no idea what to do make it sound good...point out over and over how they are tech. frauding you (if you had no set contract) and that should handle it all and keep you from any trouble. Whens the last time you went there?

cant you sell your membership to someone else? People do that around here all the time when they are stuck in a contract

Go over there in person and raise hell. They will give you what they want so you wont cause a scene.

well i discovered that i have to physically sign an affidavit before they will dispute it, and the info they took from me was just to get the process started. So I am just going to not dispute...and FUCK ballys for being such a pain in the ass. And Yes I signed a contract, but little did I know at the time that I would have to be DEAD to get it cancelled! this shit is ridiculous! And I don't think I can sell my membership...never heard of anyone doing that, but i will look into it..the $30/mo membership im not worried about..i dont mind dishing that out for my own stupidity but this $400/mo personal trainer deal is KILLING us!

Damn... $400.00 a month. Wow... Well yeah, I would just do like Boomer said and go there in person. Ask to speak to a manager, or the highest person available... that usually gets the job done. I hope everything works out for you.

The way I got out of it was by telling them that I moved, you have to read your fine print. If you move and there isn't a Bally's near your new address they will cancel without the fee... Hope that helps.

The best way to fix this problem is not to sign 400 dollar a month contracts when I don't want you to :) Ooops, I mean...yah, take 'em to court!!

I did the whole "i moved far away thing" and it worked. You just have to show them a bill that is in your name.
