So I'm coming out of the corner store when I suddenly notice that every lamp post has a poster on it. They're just black with the URL: "www.dont-hold-back.com" and DON'T HOLD BACK. The website seems mysterious and just says coming soon and has the deffinitions of "concept" and "idea".

There's sound too, it's just quiet... a heart beating, white noise, breathing, etc...weird.

ARG? Or maybe viral marketing? I'm just surprised it's shown up in my town! I'll post a picture sometime.

EDIT: They're up in the nearby town of Perth as well.

has anybody else seen these? they are all over like several towns around me. Im not sure who here is from Canada, let alone from Ontario, but i live in Long Sault, which is just outside of Cornwall (about an hour away from ottawa), and these things are all over the place! worst of all nobody can seem to figure out whos putting them up. iv asked literally everyone and google'd about a million times and still nothing.

check it out (pic was semi-too big to post, follow the link):

I have no clue what you are talking about, and I'm not too keen on the idea of clicking on the link you posted.

...ok let me elaborate. all over my town, and towns around me, have these signs on basically every freakin lamp post that say "Dont Hold Back". some people think that they are part of an ARG (Alternate Reality Game) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternate_reality_game. It is basically a form of maketing. i was wondering if anyone had ever heard of anything like this.

and just to clarify, the link is a picture of one of those signs on a lamp post...

EDIT:
sorry if my first post was a lil sloppy. Its late (more like early here) and i guess im more tired than i thought. Damn you insomnia

Alternate Reality Game huh? Is that like Dungeons and Dragons where the kids play it so much that they start believing that they are really the character they are playing? And then when their character gets killed in the game the kid becomes so distraught that he commits suicide?

You know what? I've seen them. I live in KW area, but I can't recall if I saw them here or when I drove to Ottawa to visit my parents last. I never really thought much of them. Certainly could be an ARG. Halo2 did a huge one, so who knows. More video games?

I immediatebly thought of ilovebees from the Halo 2 ARG.

you see, i thought of ilovebees too, but at least that was only online. sure it was in every forum and nook and cranny of the net, but eventually you turn the computer off. everytime i turn around theres another one of these signs, theres advertising and then there visual molestation. personally i think this has crossed the line.

haha, i just can't wait to see peoples reactions when it turns out to be the next axe or mountain dew energy add.

of course however, it could just be a bunch of emos out to try and improve the world... god help them if i find out thats what it is

Emos improving the world with... cryptic advertising? I fail to see the connection.

i dont know, i can just see a raging pack of emos sitting in their parents basement going "man, people waste their lives. its all just a waste... lets go out and do something... try and get people to improve themselves... hey man, pass the razorblade".

That must be some sort of emo organization if they've reached KW from Ottawa. And I always figured their domination would come with a really bad soundtrack.

God, I hate them. Both myspace and Panic! at the Disco. Emo singers seem to have this complex where their voices become highly irritating.

I kind of want to be playing Halo2 now that we've brought it up, but I'm in no mood to go digging for my XBox, since I currently have no television to hook it up to.
